August 29, 2008Initial fall enrollment figures for Ouachita Baptist University reflect a significant increase of 4 percent over last year’s enrollment.

Music faculty to present musical theatre recital
August 28, 2008The division of music in Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts will host “I Do, I Do,” a faculty musical theatre recital with a marriage theme, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the McBeth Recital Hall of Mabee Fine Arts Center. The recital will feature Cindy Fuller, instructor of voice and music education; Scott Holsclaw, dean of the school of fine arts and professor of theatre; Caitlin Secrest, a junior at Arkadelphia High School; Glenda Secrest, associate professor of music; and Jon Secrest, chair of OBU’s applied music department, coordinator of vocal studies and director of opera and musical theatre workshops. Ouachita earns No. 1 ranking from U.S. News for second straight year
August 22, 2008Ouachita Baptist University has been named the No. 1 Baccalaureate College in the South for 2009 by U.S. News & World Report. Ouachita also was named the No. 1 “Great Schools, Great Prices” Baccalaureate College in the South in the annual ranking. (more…)
